The American Diabetes Association is the nation's leading voluntary health organization supporting diabetes research, information and advocacy. Founded in 1940, the
Association's mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The ADA is the only non-profit health organization that supports all types of diabetes including: type 1, type 2, gestational, and pre-diabetes.
Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes (Step Out) is the American Diabetes Association's largest fundraising event. Step Out will be held on Saturday, November 21st at Minute
Maid Park in downtown Houston and at Northshore Park in The Woodlands. Step Out features a 5K run and a family-friendly 3K walk. Immediately following the run
and walk, participants will enjoy entertainment, a health and fitness festival and activities for all ages. Money raised through Step Out is used to fulfill the Association's mission and is used to fund ADA local research and programs, such as the ADA's summer camp for kids.
