JUAN MITTERHOFER

SUMMARY
Juan is a native of Peru and became US citizen in 2002. He is a seasoned executive with over 23 years of experience in the Petroleum Exploration & Production areas with emphasis in the technology business arena.
During his business career, Juan has started several successful businesses, developing a deep sense for identifying problems that he identified as possible business opportunities. He then generated the business strategy and gathered human and technology resources to go after those opportunities.
Graduated as Chemical Engineer and in 1992 begun his preparation for business, finishing the PAD program, (Upper Management Program) at the ‘Universidad de Piura’ in Lima, Peru and also took other business programs at ESAN, (the Stanford University in California, Postgraduate Business School for Latin America, established in Lima, Peru).
After transferring ownership of his business in Peru, he moved to Houston Texas in 1997, and he set up a consulting company for the petroleum industry.
Later during 2000 started a family owned business that later has diversified in three areas:
- Geosciences services for the Petroleum Exploration & Production
- Real state, 2006 investing and then managing an office building and a portfolio of rental properties.
- Business Intelligence, in 2008, that uses Web 2.0 software applications to enhance business performance
In May of 2006, the U.S. SBA Houston District Office selected Juan and his G&W Company to receive the 2006 ‘Exporter of the Year’ Award.
For the past several years Juan has been serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (HHCC), where he is also an active member of the International Committee. This chamber has been recognized as the “National Largest Hispanic Chamber of the Year”, by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, based in Washington, D.C. HHCC is well known as the leading regional advocate for the economic and civic interests of the Hispanic business community in the metropolitan Houston region.
He participates on motivational programs and seminars for Hispanic Small Business owners.
Professional Associations: is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, SPE; Society of Exploration Geophysicists, SEG; and the American Association of Petroleum Geologist, AAPG.
BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
2000 – Today, President &CEO, G&W Group, Houston, Texas
G&W Consulting, Corp., Geosciences consulting services for the hydrocarbon sector, with a branch in Mexico to provide technical services for Pemex, Mexican Petroleum Institute and Comesa, Mexican state entities.

Has signed 15 service contracts with those Mexican entities, having participated in more than 75 Geosciences Projects all over the four Pemex Regions in Mexico.

Juan has established strategic alliances with specialized research programs at the following Universities:

University of Houston (Geophysics); University of Texas (Uncertainty applied to oil reservoirs), Oklahoma University (Structural Geology), Stanford University, (Rock Physics) and other private entities, which has enabled Juan’s company to provide cutting edge technology to solve complex geological problems.
G&W Holdings LLC, manages and operates an office property concern and a portfolio of rental properties; at the present there are 32 office tenants (94 % of occupancy), and 6 rental properties
G&W B.I. LLC, This LLC was created in 2008 to manage the growing software development activity; it provides Business Intelligence Software development to add value to a business applying new technologies based on software applications of Web 2.0 and RIA in partnership with Adobe Corporation. Methodologies and procedures are based on Project Management Institute (PMI) and Business Process Modeling. Has developed the system Synergistic Management Suite™ GW-SMS™.
1993 to 1997, President, Cia Petrolera Rio Bravo S.A., Lima, Peru
In 1993, through an international bidding process, the Peruvian Government awarded Juan’s company the rights to implement this operation with a 20 years contract for the hydrocarbon exploitation of Block number IV in the Talara basin, (Ex-Brea Parinas area).
1986 to 1993.- President Driflex S.A, (Former Tanus del Peru S.A.)
Drilling Fluids services, a drilling operations company in the hydrocarbon industry, in Peru and Ecuador. Developed a complete line of products based on the Peruvian industrial park producing 100% Peruvian products. Main client: Drilling department of Petroperu, (Peruvian state owned Petroleum company)
1982 to 1986.- Drilling Fluids Department Head, Milchem, Inc, Peru and Bolivia
Manager and technical leader of a team of Technical Sales Representatives that provided services during rig drilling operations for Petroperu in Peru and later for YPFB in Bolivia
1976 to 1982.- Drilling Fluids, Minera Baribent S.A., Talara, Peru
Technical Sales Representative to provide services of drilling fluids technologies during drilling operations, main clients: Petroperu, Belco Petroleum
1973 to 1976.- Engineer at Talara Refinery, Petroperu S.A.
After graduation on April 1973, begun working as Process Engineer for the refinery operations in Talara, Peru. During 1975, promoted to Engineering Design in the technical department.
