Paul Bitner

Mr. Bitner is the Chief Operating Officer – Latin America. Brokerslinkis a holding company for a global alliance of privately held alliance of commercial insurance brokers, reinsurance brokers and risk management consultants. There are Brokerslink partners in almost every country in Latin America.
1996 – October 2010; Aon
Mr. Bitner was a Managing Director of Aon Global Americas with responsibility for business development in the Americas, Strategic Account Management (SAM) for major clients in Latin America, business development and service coordination for foreign investment into the U.S. Mr. Bitner was involved in the business development or service coordination of key Aon accounts (including Alfa, Cemex, the Panama Canal, Techint, TACA) during this period of time.
Also during his tenure at Aon, Mr. Bitner was part of Aon Latin America/Caribbean Region and in addition to business development was Chairman for the regional Aviation Practice Group and a member of the regional Energy Practice Group. Some examples of special projects included involvement in the addition of new exclusive correspondents for Aon in the region, initiation and participation in the creation of the Panamanian insurance captive domicile legislation.
1990 – 1996; Alexander & Alexander (acquired by Aon)
Mr. Bitner was an Executive Vice President of A&A, responsible for the Global Business Units (GBU’S) for the Southwest, Midwest and West Coast regions of the U.S. These units were responsible for the business development and service of multinationals (both outward and reverse flow operations. During his tenure at A&A, Mr. Bitner also led A&A’s initial strategy to penetrate the newly opened Russian insurance market; participated in the development of A&A’s Latin American network; managed the closing down and run off of an unsuccessful reinsurance operation in Mexico; served as the U.S. Director of A&A’s Global Infrastructure Group handling consulting for major development projects and privatizations for Bank of America and Societe Generale.
1981 – 1990; Johnson Higgins
Mr. Bitner began his insurance career as a trainee in Johnson & Higgins’ international department. The servicing and placement of large international insurance programs followed a 2-year formal training period across all lines of insurance. Toward the end of his tenure in J&H, Mr. Bitner was also heavily involved in the business development and the placement of insurance for accounts in Latin America. During this period Mr. Bitner also formed the first insurance captive for a Latin American based company.
