The New Year is bringing a few changes and challenges to the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which will be celebrating its 40th anniversary.
Laura Murillo, chamber president and CEO, said six new board members will be announced in January, bringing with them expertise from various business sectors. The chamber will kick off the New Year's event lineup with an innovation in health summit in February and expects to surpass attendance records for its annual April luncheon, she added.
Given the current political climate, and the chamber's involvement in voter registration efforts, Murillo pointed to increased chamber participation in the political sphere.
"You can count on the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce doubling down on our public policy and advocacy efforts," she said.
