Houston chambers of commerce have encouraged their business members to volunteer and donate to Harvey relief efforts.
The Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce has been collecting donations from its member organizations that will benefit the city's Hurricane Harvey disaster relief fund, a spokeswoman said.
Laura Murillo, president and CEO of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, said members of the chamber's emerging leaders program have gone on rescue missions across the city and have collected clothing and food for shelters.
